Don’t Get Burned By Body Hair Removal
Body hair can be pretty embarrassing to have in excess. While its of course totally natural and normal to have a lot of body hair, it has definitely developed a kind of stigma associated with it in some countries, including the U.S. Having a lot of body hair can make going to the beach or a public pool an embarrassing and uncomfortable event, when it is supposed to be fun and relaxing. Body hair removal is getting to be more and more common as this sort of stigma grows and spreads.
Americans like to find things to be ashamed of, this much I’ve learned. We are constantly looking for ways to hide our age, lower our weight, cover up blemishes, restructure our faces, and we are now getting obsessed with body hair removal. It seems like every time I turn on the television I’m seeing some new product designed for body hair removal being advertised.
One of the older tried and tested methods of body hair removal is of course waxing. This is my personal favorite. There’s nothing like getting hot wax poured all over you, then having your hair ripped out one strip at a time. If you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing this form of body hair removal, I highly recommend it. Somewhere between medieval torture and a bad day at the dentist, getting your body hair waxed is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Of course, then there is shaving. Shaving is probably the most common method of body hair removal, if not the most efficient. While its relatively painless, your hair will just grow right back again within days, and you are limited to shaving areas you can reach. Body hair removal for your legs, armpits, and of course face is easy to do by shaving, but its pretty hard to shave your own back unless you have some amazing flexibility.
The most effective form of body hair removal that I know is electrolysis. This is a medical procedure involving lasers that permanently, or nearly permanently, removes hair by killing the roots. While it is actually pretty painless compared to waxing, the problem with this kind of body hair removal is it is expensive, and therefore not really feasible for large portions of your body.
There are some body hair removal lotions and creams I’ve seen, but I’m a little wary of any chemical that can dissolve your hair. Generally, that’s not a good sign, and probably means it’s doing all kinds of harmful things to your skin.
Indoor volleyball has been a respected sport for a long time and then the new kid on the block came along. Beach volleyball is an old pastime but only became popular as a professional sport from the late 1990s. Until then, it was mostly played for fun in California, with some local tournaments taking place. It began in Santa Monica during the 1920s and gradually spread elsewhere. People mainly viewed it as a fun thing to do on vacation but then the media started to take an interest. Today, it is a highly competitive business with sponsors competing for a piece of the action.
Haven’t you ever wondered who in the world had the audacity to invent the thong swimsuit? Oh come on - you’ve surely pondered the issue at some point or another. It’s like the Speedo for men. You just have to sit back and stare in horror. These minute articles of clothing were simply not meant to be worn. Hey, if you don’t believe me, then just head off to some tropical beach in Europe for proof. Regardless, the thong swimsuit still remains rather popular in some areas. I guess certain folks just feel that it looks great on them.
Having glowing bronze skin is what almost every woman and many men want for the summer. With all of the health concerns surrounding prolonged sun exposure having an alternative to spending time in the damaging sun ray’s is a great thing.
We all have heard about the damaging effects of the sun and why it is so important that we protect ourselves with sun screens. Let the sun shine in but not too much, right? Ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays are invisible, and can be very damaging to the skin if it is not protected. This type of light causes skin cancers, altered pigmentation, dilated blood vessels, and changes in the texture of the skin. All these factors contribute to aging of the skin, which is accelerated by over exposure to the sun. Every time skin is sunburned damage has occurred, and getting multiple sunburns or being constantly exposed to the sun without sun screen protection, puts an individual at a higher risk of getting skin cancer. This applies to tanning. Even if the skin is not sunburned, damage is occurring. There is no safe tan.
Sun screens, such as window tinting, sun shades, and other types sun filtering devices are available for homes and vehicles to screen or block out sunlight and heat. For many homeowners in warmer parts of the country, it is important to have various sun screens because the sun is so intense. Window tinting on vehicles is a must have, as well as blinds, light filtering curtains or shades, and patio shades or screened enclosures. There are many businesses that specialize in making your home more pleasant and protecting you and your family from the sun.
